The Empress, the third card in the Major Arcana, the goddess of tarot. A card representing motherly guidance, feminine influence, and pregnancy. Often associated with the moon even though it is ruled by Venus -because she is ruled by venus people typically associate The Empress with Aphrodite. While The Empress is not a negative card in either direction, I have had a negative connection with The Empress. I still love the card and it is an indicator for messages from Aphrodite or Motherly spirits reaching out in my decks.
The main reason I have a problem with The Empress is when my Ex’s readings, he used it as an indication card for me or the feelings he had for me. He claimed to see and respect my gender identity, but this card proved everytime that he was lying. In addition this particular Ex has severe mommy issues, and with a theme like "Nagging" listed in the main themes you can only imagine my thoughts about how he views me. Honestly I was heartbroken reading the cards even if we were trying to just be friends at the time the fact that he viewed me as feminine, as a Motherly- nagging figure in his life, not to mention the pregnancy symbolism describing me. When I asked what ditties thought of this view Lilith chimed in [The Queen of Wands] pulling The Fool card and his indicator card [Death]. Whenever a reading was done with him as at least one of the centers, the Empress would be pulled when it was a question about me. He was intent on using me, on making me the mother of his children whether he stayed or not.
This person for a series of reasons has been cut from my life.
If a story time is requested I will consider offering the story of the relationship however if I consider and land on the decision of yes I will need EVERYONE to understand first and foremost that this is one side of the story [the correct side but that’s not relevant] and it is a side that has been greatly effected in a negative way by the story. It may take me a while to write it and it may take me some time to be okay with this story being told to those other than my close friends or just being mentioned in off handed “Oh I’m traumatized” not in therapy coping humor. The reason this story would be posted here and not kept more secretive on a smaller blog or a non shop related platform is because thi story and this trauma has led me down this path and I have him to blame/thank for these opportunities.
